5. Game Rules
5.1. Sumo Game
5.1.1. Participants will be randomly paired up as opponents in their individual categories. The
Sumo Game is played by elimination.
5.1.2. Each game consists of 3 matches. Each match shall last for 2 minutes. The winner of
the 3 matches will move on.
5.1.3. If a game ends in a draw with no winner, a 4th sumo match will be played. In the event
there is still a draw, a 5th head to head strength match will be held immediately to
decide the winner.
5.2. Match Winner
5.2.1. A robot wins when any part of the opponent’s robot attached to the opponent’s robot
touches the floor
5.3. Service Time
5.3.1. Participants will be given a 1minute servicing Time before the start of their game.
5.4. Time out
5.4.1. Participants will be given a cumulative time of 1 minute throughout their game (3
matches). Time out will only apply after a match. Once the match starts, no time out is
allowed.
5.5. Robot Handler
5.5.1. Participants are allowed to use only the same robot throughout the whole event.
Robots and participants are identified during registration and caging.
5.6. Caging
5.6.1. Robots shall be inspected and caged before the start of the game
