The First i will present the interesting attraction for family. There are Wat Chedi Luangand and Chiang Mai Night Safari . Wat Chedi Luang is perhaps Chiang Mai’s most striking relic and was once the most important in the Lanna capital. Dating from 1441, the 91-metre high pagoda was felled to half that height in an earthquake in the late 16th century. To this day the partially renovated chedi remains the tallest structure in the old city and the main attraction. There are several Viharn or Ubosots in the compound as well. The much revered Emerald Buddha, found in the Grand Palace in Bangkok, briefly lived here during its remarkable travels.
Chiang Mai Night Safari is One of Chiang Mai’s newest attractions, this 120-acre woodland at the foot of Doi Suithep National Park is worthwhile for the whole family. A two-kilometre Jaguar Trail around a pretty lake has many zoo-like enclosures and when it gets dark two different tram rides take visitors through open safari area full of African, Asia and South American predators and wild animals. It includes a large pavilion area with restaurant and Southeast Asia’s biggest musical fountain.
The Second i will present two attraction for you and your friend. There are Doi Angkhang and Tha Phae Gate. Doi Angkhang is one of the coldest places in Thailand so is a popular destination for Thai visitors. It is also renowned as a scenic wonderland of orchards, flowers and forests.
Tourists love to visit Doi Angkhang to experience the cold weather (it can dip below zero in December and January), and to enjoy the scenery and temperate plant life. The Royal Agricultural Station Angkhang is actually a research station for temperate climate fruit. During the winter, temperate fruit trees shed their leaves and plants do not bloom. “Visitors used to complain that the trees were dying and there was nothing to see,” says Prince Bhisadej, who decided to introduce something for tourists “to see.” The area has a cool climate all year round, particularly from December to January, when much of the area is frosty. During that period, visitors should be prepared to cope with cold weather. Accommodation is available.
The Sunday Market (or Walking Street) is a large market located right in the centre of the old walled city area of Chiang Mai. Starting at the Tha Phae Gate at one end the Sunday Market extends for roughly 1km down the full length of Ratchadamnoen Road. You can go to the Market every Sunday from 4pm till midnight.
At the Sunday Market you will find lots of tourists and Thai locals all gathered together having a good time looking for bargains. The Sunday Market is growing bigger every year and has now started to spread down many of the side streets off the main road, as well as the big open area around the Tha Phae Gate itself.
The handicraft products displayed are perfect as gifts or beautiful and useful items to decorate your own home. You will also find many vendors selling shoes, jewellery, souvenirs and clothing
The Sunday Market really comes alive after dark when all the street entertainers, musicians, puppeteers, Thai dancers, and bands start to perform; and all the coloured light are turned on. If you get sore feet wandering around, you can have a foot massage for 60THB ($2) for 30 minutes.
