There is a growing concern about a fall in the level of protection being afforded to employees
in the aviation sector. This is a consequence of the mobile and international nature of the
industry. There are concerns that terms and conditions are being reduced to increase profits
rather than to make companies viable and that growing numbers of people working in the
sector are now nominal self-employed and do not have pension rights, tenure or other
protections.
