Since 1980, some 40% of coral reefs have suffered destruction or depletion, and 35% of mangrove forests may have been lost worldwide. In 2010, a project called “1,000 Seedlings for a Mangrove Forest” was initiated by Sony Technology Thailand(STT) where employees and their families planted 1,000 mangrove seedlings. Since 2010, the height of the mangrove trees has reached over 3 meters and wildlife numbers have increased significantly.
