5. Conclusions
The presented research work emphasis on SWE method as an efficient way for soil remediation from PAHs through obtaining series of experimental data. Furthermore, it showed that the removal efficiency depends strongly on water temperature. It was observed that some PAHs, such as naphthalene can be separated selectively. This study introduces a new two-phase model with appropriate accompanied correlations to predict experimental data. The model predictions compare well to the experimental results. The results of this study demonstrate that superheated water is a potentially useful extractant for the removal of PAHs from contaminated soils
