I have now completed marking the projects and awarding grades for the course, although you still have a presentation on the last day, which may initiate an increase in you grade, provided you turn up!
The performance in the projects varied from poor (little or no obvious effort has been put in), to not bad at all (showing reasonable, and timely effort have been expended on getting the project done.
However, in all cases, there has not been enough attention to what was asked for in the project description (namely, 2 essays, each needing 10 paragraphs). There has also been a lot of, simply copying text from some source. And at times, even the process of copying / typing in, has introduced errors - e.g. a singular noun, becoming a plural; missing verbs; etc.
In short, those of you who have done well, should now:
'Up your game' - start taking English skills (inc. academic writing) , to the next level.
Concentrate on the details of writing correctly
Practise! Practise! Practise!
For those of you who have not done so well, you should be asking with yourself why!
From my viewpoint,
Writing English can be difficult, so you need to be really committed to succeeding.
Lack of Motivation and Commitment - demonstrated by: Attending class regularly; being prompt; Focused; Being distracted by use of mobile instead of listening carefully, doing some practice on your own, outside class, etc.
Nevertheless, I hope you will do much better in the future.
Regards,
Maurice Burnett
