Crabs, as most free living crustaceans, are ideal subjects for
morphometric studies because of the ease of taking fast and precise
measurements on their hard exoskeleton. Applications of morphometricmethods
on this group are diverse, and include the analysis of shape
variation among ontogenetic stages, sexes, inter-sexes, and sexreversals,
maturity stages, different taxa and spatially segregated
population units of the same taxa
