The serotypes and phage types identified in chicken samples from
the retail survey are provided in Table 2. A total of 23 different
Salmonellaserotypes were identified on chicken; 11 of which were
only identified on a single occasion. The five most frequently
identified serotypes in chicken wereS. Infantis (28 positives, 20.3%),
S. Typhimurium phage type 135a (STM 135a) (20 positives, 14.5%), S.
Sofia (19 positives, 13.8%),S. Typhimurium phage type 6 (STM 6) (16
positives, 11.6%) andS. Kiambu (12 positives, 8.7%).
