The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a press conference on Tuesday to inform the international community of recent developments in the bombing outrage at Ratchaprasong intersection in Bangkok on Monday evening.
At the conference it was stated that on August 17, authorities were able to secure the blast site and assist victims after the explosion. Rescue officials transported the injured to 11 nearby hospitals. Authorities have since been identifying the deceased and contacting their families.
The ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased and vowed to provide assistance to the injured to the best of its abilities. Meanwhile, authorities have launched a full investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The ministry revealed that it is coordinating with various embassies in providing updates from Thai investigators. Furthermore, the ministry will expedite visas for the families of foreign victims, so they can visit them in Thailand without delay.
