Wireless technology facilitates rapid deployment
and widespread use of network devices, bringing
forth applications in intelligent living space. In
the presence of the applications concerned, however,
a user may have difficulty in managing
wireless networks to customize for her needs.
One major reason is that wireless nodes often
operate in a form of automated binding, which is
generally set up at startup of these devices themselves
due to internal machinery. Although such
self-organizing functionality benefits the user in
bypassing involved device configurations, binding
resolution might fall short of a user’s expectation
of better flexibility in that the binding relationships,
once established, leave the user less room
for intervention and adjustment.
