a) Skirting plate: there are skirting plates provided at the loading points. Intermediate loading points are provided by skirting plates parallel to the belt conveyor which has opening of 70-90% of the belt openings.
Spillage of coal can be minimized by fixing rubber at skirt plates by 6” longer belt on the single/both sides of skirting plates. It facilitates-
A) Central discharge of the load on belt conveyor.
B) the extended length of rubber offers resistance to belt sway.
C) Load of the coal is gets distributed along the length of the skirt plates and the extended
belt pieces of the skirts.
