These results suggest differences between genetic lines for feeding patterns that may be exhibited largely through changes in feed consumption rate and the frequency of feeder visits. These data also highlight the importance of the relationship between BW and feeding patterns. Furthermore, the differences in feeding patterns between the two genetic lines may be due in part to different rates of change in feeding patterns with BW. The effects of genetic line and BW on feeding patterns in pigs are topics that warrant further research.
