First place the specimen on the machine properly, treadle the pedal to start the motor to drive the specimen, and then adjust the height and the clearance of the left and right supports to make the specimen rotate steadily and smoothly. After the specimen is placed well, make proper mark on the specimen (see Fig 2.1) and then input the RPM according to the following steps:
1. Turn the (4) switch to "Setting"; the display board will show "p---".
2. Treadle the pedal switch to make the specimen rotate.
3. Press the (14) RPM setting switch; the display board will show the RPM to be input.
4. Adjust the (6) RPM dial; the RPM value show on the display board will change with the adjustment of the (6) dial. This RPM value is exactly the frequency per minute of the strobo. Make the frequency of the strobo synchronize with the RPM of the specimen; the RPM shown on the display board at this time is the RPM of the specimen. Please refer to Section 2-3 about how to adjust the synchronization.
5. After adjusting to the synchronization, relieve the (14) button and the pedal.
6. Press the (16) button, and input the measured RPM into the computer.
7. Turn the (4) switch to "Balancer", the display board will show "H---", and the "Wait " lamp will light.
8. After the "Wait" lamp is off, the "H---" will disappear, and then the newly input RPM value will show. It is the time to begin the balancing work for the specimen.
