Roosmarijn de Kok, a 19-year-old Vogue cover model from the Netherlands, is accused of shoplifting chocolate bars and fish oil from a Whole Foods store in New York City on July 18.
A store detective allegedly saw the model take the items off the shelf and conceal them in her bag. According to her lawyer, it was an accident and she just "forgot" about the candy and fish oil.
The lawyer also argues that de Kok is "totally innocent" because she "never actually left the store with the products". Prosecutors offered her a conditional dismissal wherein the charges would be tossed after six months of good behaviour, but she declined.
