Dear All,
These are containment actions, and as per Decha’s mail, the root cause has to be identified and the corresponding corrective action put in place
So, root causes to confirm or discard
• Calibration of length counter (production) and length counter (inspection) not statistically the same.
• Accuracy of the length meter was not considered and caused the differential when produced
• Length counter in production was well calibrated and the operator did not record correctly (lack of attention or lack of training)
So to investigate this root causes we have to:
• Confirm calibration schedule exists and was done on time
• Confirm that the calibration was done correctlhy
• Compare the results of both length counters (GRR?)
• Verify the training and capabilities, and work routines of the people in charge of measuring the length
Depending of what is found, the corrective actions might be
• Update calibration program
• Establish GRR studies of calibration benchmark
• Retrain operators in use of length meters,
• Establish random length inspections
And additional preventive inspections
• Fine tune planned length based on length counters accuracy
• Used redundant length meters of different types

Please make sure that we complete the necessary actions of this list, in coordination with Quality Engineering, Process Technology and Planning.
