CD24, as a small glycosylated mucin-like glycosyl phosphatidylinositol
(GPI)-linked cell surface protein, is attached to the
cell membrane by a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol anchor [11]. The upregulation
of CD24 has been observed not only in hematologic malignancies,
but also in various solid tumors, such as glioma, breast cancer,
small cell lung carcinoma, HCC, ovarian cancer and prostate cancer
[11].
