Makro’s economic growth of 2014 is forecasted at approximately 3-4% from limited growth in local demand and the political uncertainly during beginning of the year and shows that Makro has earned high profits from the growth orientated policies of Thai government. A military coup took place in Thailand on 22 May 2014. Political and administrative power is now concentrated in the Military Junta, calling itself the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO). In September 2015 The National Reform Council rejected the draft new constitution. The NCPO will now appoint a new drafting committee, which will have six months to produce a new version. Exact timelines are not yet clear. Elections are unlikely to take place until at least 2017. The timelines for these developments are uncertain and the situation is likely to remain fluid. This makes Thailand have better economic situations because it has less corruption according to the political factors so that it will help Makro company.
