Sloppy, late incomplete, and poorly done are words describing the work of someone who is not committed to excellence. In the absence of a commitment to excellence, this failure to do good work is not about ability or lack of ability , but, rather, it is about being lazy and not caring. It is an indication of low self-respect or lack of pride in oneself. As children, some people may not have been taught how to do good work. The expectation for these adolescents may have been very low. It might be necessary for some of us to re parent ourselves as adults. We may need to push and then reward ourselves for good work. We need to realize that we are capable and that we can and should do good work all the time.
