Ramp Services Manager
G1.3.4.1 Role Purpose Statement
The Ramp Services Manager reports to the Director, Ground Operations. He/She is responsible for managing, coordinating and handling all matters relating to ramp handling of Company aircraft and assisting the Director, Ground Operations in leading and supporting the ground operations team in order to realize Company goals and objectives.
G1.3.4.2 Job Descriptions
In detail the Ramp Services Manager is responsible to:
• Establish and maintain an efficient process of servicing and catering Company aircraft, handling baggage and cargo and maintaining ground support equipments in compliance with regulations and achieving Company service goals;
• Establish and implement local procedures at line stations to comply with Company safety, quality and security requirements;
• Supervise the discipline, conduct and appearance of ramp services personnel;
• Promote efforts to achieve on-time performance and quick turnaround of late arriving flights;
• Review overall performance of ramp operations on a daily basis and implement improvement;
• Communicate with other internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient running of all operations;
• Prepare, monitor and control cost to ensure expenditures stay within budget;
• Secure Company ramp property and equipments from theft, abuse and mis-use;
• At stations with own organization, ensure that all staff members are trained to proficiency in their functions and that they follow strictly the prescribed instructions and procedures;
• At stations where subcontractors are used, monitor the quality performance of services rendered and demand timely correction of discrepancies noted;
• Nominate to Director Ground Operations qualified candidates for appointment as instructors;
• Prepare summary reports to measure service performance, and implement actions for continuous improvement;
