Myth: We have a lot of standards and procedures for
building software.
Reality: Those standards do not reflect modern software
engineering practices. They are not adaptable or can be
streamlined.
Myth: If we get behind schedule, add more
programmers.
Reality: This is one of the most misunderstanding
concept. Software development is not a mechanical
process. It has been researched and documented that
adding people to the late software project make it worse.
