printing industries are the main sources of these pollutants.

the ever more stringent national and international regulations
have led to the development and optimization of processes
aimed at reducing pollution of water, air and soil (Devinny
et al., 1999).
Heretofore, industrial waste gases have been treated by
physicochemical methods such as absorption, condensation
and incineration. However, in the past few decades biological
treatment methods have also demonstrated competitive
capabilities.
Biofiltration is known as one of the most applicable
technologies in biological treatment methods. The process
involves passing of contaminated streams through a porous
media on which microorganisms have been immobilized in
