Nongprue police and the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team were called out by the local fire brigade on the evening of Sunday, 26th July to attend to a fire that had broken out at a townhouse in Chokechai Green Villas in Nongprue. Two fire trucks were sent out to deal with the blaze that had started in the kitchen. The electricity supply to the house was first cut off before any attempt was made to control the fire. The housekeeper, 43 year old Miss Kakanang stated that she had left a pan full of oil on the stove in readiness to cook some chicken as the phone went. She claimed she was away from the kitchen for only 5 minutes and returned to find the flaming pan spilling over and spreading quickly on the kitchen floor. Thankfully, her cries for help were heard by neighbor, 20 year old Mr. Krisada, who came to the house with a water hose to stop the spread of the blaze. However, the fire was too intense so they called the fire brigade for help. Estimated damage is about 100,000 baht.
