Floater powder originates from a plant extract, hence it is organic and safe to use. Mixing the floater which is initially in powder form with soft
near boiling water is essential for the best results.
To check your local area for your water type, see diagram LHS.
Water has a different level of soft/hardness so when in dought use a soft water option. (de-ironised or distilled water)
The ratio powder : water is printed on the top of your floater powder sachet. 1 sachet in the kit : 2 liters of soft water (August 2014)
Once you see the water starting to bubble on the base of the pot, turn off the heat. Start sprinkling the powder slowly over the water, while
whisking. Whisk continually, to ensure no lumps in the mix. I used a spice container to sprinkle the floater powder, which distributes the powder evenly. Ensure adult support when mixing the powder in a near boiling water pot, as safety comes first.
Leave the floater overnight to cool and thicken (not in your fridge).
After mixed, its life span is 3-4 months if refrigerated and 3-4 weeks if not refrigerated. Hence you can reuse it over and over again, just keep
it in a sealed container in a cool dark place (fridge or outside in winter). It turns back into water over a max period of 4 months.
Label it: ‘’Floater - do not drink.’’
Before you use your mixed floater, gently tilt the container 2-3 times to re-distribute the floater liquid, but do not shake.
The floater can be thinned with water, but not reheated and more floater powder added to thicken again.
Mixing a fresh batch after its life span of around 3-4 months is advised.
