“Yeah?” You spun around. Your eyes were pinned to your phone screen when his fingers reached your chin, lifted up your head, and his lips encapsulated yours.
Your eyes widened and you gasped at the sudden kiss. You began to smile, lifting your hands gently to his shoulders.
You pulled away,and his hands found their way to your waist.
“What was that for?” You asked.
He chuckled, taking your phone and throwing it on the couch.
“Happy birthday.” he said. He then swallowed you up in his arms. You began laughing and twisting in his grasp. His mouth was near your ear when he said,
“I love you.” His voice was deep and rumbled in his chest.
“I love you too.” You smiled.
He kissed down your neck and his hands grabbed your waist tighter.
“You were meant to sleep in. I was meant to make you breakfast.” His nose caught the smell of cooking breakfast.
You shook your head, “That’s okay, you didn’t have to.”
He took your hands in his, and looked into your eyes.
“Then let me make it up to you-”
“But you don’t need to make anything up.” You said.
“-I’ll take you out tonight. Some place nice.” He continued.
You rolled your eyes with a sly smile,
“Just because it’s my birthday that doesn’t mean you have to do that.” You looked into his eyes. “And you know i don’t really like the extra attention.”
“Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean you don’t deserve it.”
A funny shade of red popped up to your cheeks, and he knew he had you there. He chuckled and enveloped you in a hug again, this time, you two fell into a fit of laughter as you two stumbled onto the couch.
He flipped you and his arms held himself up. He leant down and kissed you, slowly. The subtle light from the window beamed in a soft glowing haze which illuminated your eyes, causing him to become hypnotised .
