The increases in body weight were not significantly different between the 4 groups (0.6–0.8 kg). The height increment was
larger in the fruit group (–x: 2.2 cm; 95% CI: 1.8, 2.5) than in the low-retinol, low-carotene group (1.6 cm; 1.3, 2.0). Height increments in the vegetable and retinol-rich group were 1.8 (1.5, 2.1) and 1.9 (1.5, 2.3) cm, respectively.
