The elimination capacities of
BTEX were increased with the increase in the influent BTEX loading.
From Fig. 2e, it is clear that when the influent BTEX loadings
were less than 39.32 g m3 h1, nearly 100% removal could be
achieved. The elimination capacity of the biofilter was
61.04 g m3 h1 at the maximum average BTEX load of
62.94 g m3 h1 in phase V. During phase III, when the biofilter
was operated at an average BTEX load of 39.27 g m3 h1, the maximum
EC was achieved as 38.39 g m3 h1.
