27.Finally, in 1942, rebus sic stantibus was adopted by the Civil Code. Art. 1467 [13] of the 1942 Italian Civil Code, which states that: "In contracts for continuous or periodic performance or for deferred performance, if extraordinary and unforeseeable events make the performance exceedingly burdensome, the party who owes such performance can demand a dissolution of the contract, with the effect set forth in art. 1458."
