A strong majority of student questionnaire respondents believed that the CIAP would improve their overall standard of competency (83 percent), broaden their knowledge (78 percent), help them to obtain internationally recognized accounting qualifications (78 percent), gain accounting-related professional knowledge (71 percent), and improve their ability to interact in English (64 percent). However; it was striking that only 43 percent of the students felt that their knowledge had been broadened beyond accounting. The students felt strongly that the knowledge they had gained was mainly about finance (100 percent), management (81 percent) and work ethics (52 percent) and that they had learnt much less about economics (33 percent), information systems (14 percent) and strategy-related matters (45 percent).
