• A Web page is designed to attract and hold a viewer’s attention so that he or she
will spend time viewing and interacting at the page or at other pages at the same
site.
• Characteristics of Web page that make the pages more attractive and easier to
user:
• A logo and/or the e-business’s name generally appear at or near the top-left corner of a Web
page to help viewer identify the site.
• Various images, including photographs, graphics, and animations, are used to make a site more
interesting and attractive.
• Links to related pages, often grouped into categories with headings, are included to make
accessing the site’s other pages more convenient.
• Advertisements, which may be text or images, are included to generate revenue for the Web site.
• A search tool that allow viewers to locate specific information at the site or at other sites on the
Web is often included.
• A copyright statement notifying viewers that all the content at the site is protected by copyright
law is usually included.
• A link to a privacy and security policy statement informing viewers about the type of information
collected form them at the site and how it is used may be included.
