This study aimed to predict the electricity consumption of
elementary, middle and high schools according to the characteristics
of the educational facilities in South Korea. Hong et al. [16]
presented the total floor area, the building area, the total number
of people, the number of students, the number of teachers, and the
number of classes as influence factors in the electricity consumption
of educational facilities. Table 1 shows the different characteristics
of the above-mentioned six influence factors by
educational facility [9]. Also, according to the Ministry of Education
in South Korea, the annual average class hours in elementary,
middle and high schools are 971 h/year, 1122 h/year, and 1156 h/
year, respectively [43]. These characteristics by educational facility
affect electricity consumption. Therefore, this study aimed to
develop a prediction model by educational facility to accurately
predict the trend in electricity consumption.
