This mechanism of implementing GFT to the student
advising system does not alter the rule-set but rather alter
(mutate) the fuzzy set shape to achieve the tuned desired
output. Currently the system is (still in a prototype form)
designed to tune the boundary of the system to the desired
output. This kind of configuration is acceptable for linear
rule-set(s) (directly or inversely proportional) systems.
More work would be required to adapt this proposal for
non-linear rule set definition. Also, the mutation definition
is symmetrical and applied for both the inputs and the
outputs. Future work would separate these for better
flexibility in optimizing the system.
