Sample and sampling procedure
The target population for this study were the visitors of the Krapina Neanderthal
Museum (Croatia). Before the data collection started, the museum manager was
contacted for permission to take part in the study. The museum employees helped
distribute and collect the questionnaires from the participating visitors. Participation
was voluntary. Therefore, the data were collected using a convenience sampling
approach. Questionnaires were distributed to the visitors who were willing to
participate at the end of their visiting experience. No incentives were provided to the
participants.
Data were collected during a two-week period in January 2012. A total of 250
questionnaires were administered and 116 were returned. After eliminating 10
questionnaires because of incompleteness, 106 useful questionnaires were obtained,
yielding a 42.4 per cent response rate.
