as a manager for retail we have sale targets every day, and sometimes we need to offer certain items to get rid of them fast. I usually would ensure that I ask my staff to suggest these items to each and every customer to move the product our and increase our sales.
You need to be aware of your sales target, use the items you have to sell and offer it to all customers, some may so no, but if you don't ask they all will say no. Every customer is chance to reach your goal.
I also offer up challenges to see who can sell the most in the next hour etc
All businesses are sales and target driven, know your target and look for ways to reach it whether it be suggesting, showing, asking or offering.
