Thai Airways International has finished
pruning unprofitable routes and is
looking to sell its old planes and boost
ticket sales to improve its failing finances.
THAI president Charamporn Jotikasthira said on Tuesday that no more flight
routes would be chopped, because
present operations were quite
satisfactory.
He said the THAI board of directors
on Monday discussed plans for
next year and seta goal for the airline
to increase its average flight seat
occupancy to more than 75% and
further reduce costs.
A source at THAI said the airline would
eliminate unnecessary expenses and
increase efficiency of personnel
Those responsible for ticket sales
were instructed to increase online
and direct sales.
In 2014, THAI posted 15.6 billion baht in
losses for the 12 months.
