Measurements taken using a Hall effect magnetometer (Oxford Instruments 5200) indicated no measurable change in the field strength at 100 A/m over a region of 2.5cm. The Helmholtz coils also provided ample room for a range of sample dimensions, and the flexibility to enable more exotic holders to be used. Limitations imposed on the sample dimensions by the inductive magnetometer, and its inability to investigate any in-plane magnetic anisotropies are alleviated with MOKE magnetometry.
