The American Physical Society (APS) estimates that the cost of air capture is nearly $600/t of CO2 [31] and there is a high possibility that the cost will be much more than $100/t of CO2 [30]. In the coming decades, air capture could plausibly achieve $200/t of CO2 to $500/t of CO2 [8]. If the cost of air capture is less than $50/t of CO2, it will be more competitive among climate mitigation technologies.
