Since the signing of the ‘Agreement between Japan and the Kingdom of Cambodia for the
Liberalization, Promotion and Protection of Investment’ in June 2006 (the Agreement became
effective in July 2007), investment in Cambodia by Japanese businesses have been, and are,
accelerating. According to the information provided by the Japan Desk of Council for the
Development of Cambodia (CDC), the total number of licenses given for Japanese investment in
Cambodia up to the end of year 2012 is 84.
