Olentine (1986) listed a number of variables in the raw materials and processing factors that
contribute to variation in nutrient composition of distiller’s by-products (Table 2). Much of the
variation in nutrient content of corn DDGS is likely due to the normal variation among varieties
and geographic location where it is grown. Reese and Lewis (1989) showed that corn produced
in Nebraska in 1987 ranged from 7.8 to 10.0% crude protein, 0.22 to 0.32% lysine, and 0.24 to
0.34% phosphorus.
