▶ At least two means of egress should be installed.
The two means of egress should be arranged to minimize the possibility of not being able to use either of them in emergency situation.
▶ Means of egress in all building or structure should be unrestricted and not blocked.
▶ Any lock or latch which can prevent unrestricted escape from inside of the building should not be installed.
Except, when RF ID device / iris and thumb print recognition system etc. are installed and if door unlock is activated with fire alarm, it can be seem as a valid means of egress.
▶ Fire exit that links below 3 floors should be made of walls that is fire resistant for at least over an hour and should be compartmentalized from other areas of the building.
▶ Fire exit that links floors above 4th floors should be built of structure that is fire resistant for at least two hours.
Except, if the whole building is installed with approve automatic sprinkler.
ㅁ In existing buildings, existing walls in good conditions constructed of plaster, plaster board or bricks can provide satisfactory protection in a situation requiring at least one hour of fire-resistance.
ㅁ If two hours of fire-resistance performance is required, additional evaluation is needed.
▶ There is no middle side post between the door in an opening of the compartment of the fire exit and if two sets of fire doors which only open in one direction are used, one must define the order in which doors are closed so that the doors are closed completely.
ㅁ To close the doors in correct order, a coordinator is needed.
▶ An opening allowed in compartment of fire exit should be limited to door needed to go to the fire exit from normally occupied space and door to the exit to outside of the building.
