In summary, the results of this study support fi nd-
ings that being involved in a physically active and
engaging occupation like dance is benefi cial for per-
ceived quality of life as a retiree (2 – 5,11 – 15). But in
order to better understand what infl uence this kind
of improvisational dancing activity might have on
healthy elderly and those in need of rehabilitation,
more research needs to be done. It would be especially
interesting to gain knowledge of what effect improvi-
sational dance could have in geriatric settings.
