Similarly,the two different alleles resulting from each SSR and SNP marker were
also converted into binary values of 1 or 0.
By using the palatability scores as dependent variables and the binary data from molecular markers as independent variables or regressors, the best model equation
to predict rice palatability was obtained.
The most accurate prediction gave the lowest standard error and significantly highest coefficient of determination (R2), which consisted of the highly significant regression
coefficient for each marker in the model.
