A total of 34 patients were screened for inclusion. Four of
them were excluded as two of them could not read and two
did not consent to participation. Thus, 30 patients with a
diagnosis of PH of any aetiology, were recruited into the
study. Demographic details of these patients are summarised
in Table 2. Baseline awareness scores were evaluated using a
self-developed and content validated questionnaire. After
education with the manual for three months, improvements
in the awareness of the benefits of exercise in PH were seen
(Table 3). Total scores for the exercise-related benefits and
PH-related components showed improvements; though
these differences were greater among the awareness about
exercise-related benefits (Figure 1). The improvements in
awareness regarding the condition as such were not very
different. A key finding in this study was the improvement
in the willingness to exercise following the use of the
PulHMan.
