In this study, we proposed a Flash-based game that
integrated the traditional MEI-CHU competition with game
elements and multimedia. Because of we want to keep students’
motivation high, we developed an anonymous ranking function
to encourage students fight for their honor that just likes
playing the traditional MEI-CHU competition. Moreover, we
proposed a 3D learning environment that allowed students to
manipulate 3D models and we look forward to enhance their
learning outcomes. The learning contents were related to the
traditional MEI-CHU competition. We want to instruct students:
(1) the culture and history of these two universities, (2) the
rules of sport races that were held in traditional MEI-CHU
competition, and (3) the features of mascots. In order to make
our system like a real competition, we chose monopoly as the
game type. The students of two universities can compete with
each other on the internet. Thus, the spirit of traditional MEICHU
competition can be enhanced and glorified continually.
