As a worker it is essential that you can identify WHS duty holders in your work area. If you are working in a small organisation these duty holders may be obvious, but if you are working in a larger organisation this may not be the case. WHS duty holders may include:
f PCBUs or their officers – as mentioned previously a PCBU is a person conducting a business or undertaking. In a smaller organisation it would be likely the PCBU would be more likely to take on a more hands on approach to managing the business and would be more involved in WHS matters. If they are not involved in WHS matters it is likely they have appointed an WHS officer to deal with the issues.
f Fellow workers – in larger organisations workers may be employed to attend to WHS matters. These may include Health & Safety Officers or Representatives.
