medium (composition: 20.0 g/L glucose, 10.0 g/L yeast extract,
20.0 g/L peptone, 1.2 g/L KH2PO4, 0.18 g/L Na2HPO4, pH 6.0) and
incubated at 30 C and 200 rpm for 24 h. Afterwards, aliquots of
medium, corresponding to 1.0 g/L of cells, were centrifuged and
the cell pellet was used on ethanol and xylitol production.
