a) Three Step breathing technique
Also called the complete breath, the benefits of it are that it promotes proper diaphragmatic breathing, relaxes the mind and body, detoxifies the lungs of residual carbon dioxide and oxygenates the blood.
Method
You should sit with your spine erect, or lie down on your back. Begin by taking long, slow, and deep breaths through the nostrils, inhaling in and out.
* Inhale, allowing the stomach to fill with air, drawing air deep into the lower lungs.
Then exhale, and as you do so, allow your stomach to deflate like a balloon. Repeat several times, keeping the breath smooth and relaxed, and never strain. Repeat this several times.
* Next breathe as above, but also expand the mid-chest region by allowing the rib cage to open outward to the sides. Exhale and repeat this several times including both the above steps.
* Now next time you breathe in, after expanding the mid-chest region, continue inhaling by opening the clavicular region or upper chest area. Exhale and repeat the whole sequence.
All three steps should be done in one continuous or complete flow hence it's name the three step breathing.
Do this for about 6-7 minutes.
b) Alternate breathing technique
The benefits of Alternate nostril breathing is that it calms the mind, soothes anxiety and stress, promotes clear thinking and balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
Method
Hold your right hand up and curl your index and middle fingers toward your palm. Place your thumb next to your right nostril and your ring finger and pinky by your left.
Close the left nostril by pressing gently against it with your ring finger and pinky, and inhale through the right nostril. The breath should be slow, steady and full.
Now close the right nostril by pressing gently against it with your thumb, and open your left nostril by relaxing your ring finger and pinky and exhale fully with a slow and steady breath.
Inhale through the left nostril, close it, and then exhale through the right nostril.
The complete sequence for one round of alternate breathing is as follows:
1. Inhale through the right nostril and exhale through the left
2. Inhale through the left and exhale through the right
Do this for about 10 minutes.
Try and do these breathing exercises at least once a day and preferably twice a day and make sure you drink plenty of water too.
Hopefully this should help balance your body and mind and thus help your premature ejaculation.
