because the results are based only on 32% participation, a generalization of the findings should not be made.
The Focus Group
A 90-minute focus group was offered to six of JFSC‘s leadership team. Of the six potential participants, five participated in the focus group method. The focus group dialogue was dynamic and thought provoking. Each participant presented and discussed differences in opinions, articulated their perspectives, and through comprehensive interaction provided insight into the team‘s dynamic. While 83.3% of the leadership team substantiated the themes and subthemes and determined what action plans were required to enhance teamwork and collaborative capacity, their recommendations are limited by the methods of data collection and overall staff participation within those methods. Despite the success of the focus group, the participants were only privy to the overarching themes and subthemes of the research project, which opened discussion to the conditions that gave rise to the data. Collectively, these limitations have the potential to influence the recommendations and action plans.
This chapter provided a detailed overview of the study findings, study conclusions, and scope and limitations of the inquiry. As a result of what was learned during the survey and interviews, a focus group was held involving the JFSC leadership team. The purpose of the focus group was to determine recommendations and action plans. The next chapter provides in detail the study recommendations, organizational implications, and implications for future inquiry.
