Dr Luba Tomaska received her BSc (Hons) in science from the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia, doctorate in immunology from the John Curtin School of Medical Research, ANU, and completed a postdoctoral term at the Research School of Biological Sciences, ANU. She worked for almost three decades in the Australian Government, providing hazard/safety/risk assessment advice on pesticides, environmental contaminants and chemicals in food as they relate to human health. Dr Tomaska has served on Codex Committee on Food Additives and Contaminants and other technical Codex Committees, and was appointed as a World Health Organization expert on terrorist threats to food.
