The Culture-centered approach emphasizes the application
of Information Ethics in the use of social media.
Ahn (2006) defines Information Ethics as an attempt to
create ‘the standard for judging behavior of an individual
or a member of community and classifying these as moral
or amoral’ (91). According to Limo (2010) Information
Ethics; ‘prescribes the dos and don’ts in an information
society’ (1). The culture-centered approach stresses on the
application of ethics and respect for cultural norms. It seeks
to propagate standards that impose the reasonable obligations
to refrain from social vices such as; rape, bullying,
stealing, murder, assault, slander, and fraud.
