Assignments
Explain your search and things learned in detail. Please don't forget that the formal criteria mentioned in the syllabus apply. Missing them results in cutting points.
Assignment 1 (06.09.2016):
Last page of slides 1
Assignment 2 (08.09.2016):
On http://john.xanga.com/2000/11/12/7407/ we read that sky divers breath through their skin when in free fall. How would you use this information in your academic assignment? Reason in detail.
Assignment 3 (13.09.2016):
I read at http://zapatopi.net/treeoctopus/ that the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus is endangered from extinction. Should I use that in my homework? Please reason in detail.
Assignment 4 (15.09.2016):
Which car model saved two students of wizardry from a spider attack, and what is the exact colour of that car? Be exact in your answers and reason in detail.
Two hints to help you: (1) The exact color has a two-word name. (2) It's not light blue.
Take care that your references are perfect, and indicate by footnotes where exactly you found the model and the color. Be professional!
Final Assignment (20.09.2016):
Several countries and regions are competing in the field of satellite-based positioning systems. What makes such systems so important for the future? Why do many countries spend billions of dollars on getting their own satellites out, just as the European Union does it with its Galileo system? Is it just for the convenience to find your location around town, or is there more behind the application of this technology? Hint: Most ATMs use GPS signals they receive. Why is that although they never move?
